MY QUESTIONS FROM THE BOOKISH LIBRA

1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I’d definitely choose Bora Bora. It’s so far away that I’m not sure when I’ll ever be able to get there and:

Need I say more?

2. If you were given a $50 gift card to your local bookstore, what books would you buy?
Oooh. Tough one! There are so many books on my TBR and so many that I want to buy at the moment for my own personal physical library. I think I’d have to go with a box set of The Red Winter Trilogy because they are the most beautiful books on my ‘To Purchase’ list and I’m desperate for a physical copy for my bookshelf!

3. What do you wish you could change about yourself?
I’d love to be able to let things go a little easier.

I struggle with both overthinking things and from being a perfectionist so that generally makes life a little more difficult on me. I need to know all the ins and outs, the wheres, the whys and hows and THEN I still need to get it all right – to perfection! If I could just do something without having to know all the whys before I start and then if I could leave it with a few more imperfections I just think it would make things easier and I wouldn’t have to think all the thoughts, which would probably help my sleeping too!

4. If you could meet any character from any book you’ve read, who would you want to meet and why?
Just one? Gosh. This is hard!

Mostly I think I'd love to meet Daine from The Immortals series (by Tamora Pierce). She was one of my favourite EVER female protagonists while growing up and I still love her today. She's strong and capable and yet gentle and just feminine enough.

5. What made you decide to start blogging?
For me it was a path that started with a love of reading books which led to wanting to know more about the books I wanted to read and that in turn led to Goodreads which led to Book Blogs. I had so much fun reading about other people’s opinions and feelings that I wanted to get my own out there too!

It’s also a really great way to connect with like-minded people; people that you already know love books. I am sure it’s also given my real life friends a reprieve from getting unsolicited bookish advice and recommendations (which sometimes come in the form of constant shrieking about NEEDING TO READ THIS!).

6. What fictional character (books, TV, or film) is most like you?  In what ways?
Wow! This one is so hard! I generally find aspects of certain characters that I can identify with like:

  • Hermione Granger and Annabeth Chase for their bookishness and smarts and loyalty to their friends
  • Luna Lovegood for being a little out of step with the rest of the world (and she's still a Ravenclaw!)
  • Elizabeth Bennet for her quiet confidence and determination
  • Trisana Chandler for her short temper and prickliness

7. What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?
My absolute favourite has to be Rum & Raisin. I think it’s got some sort of throwback on my childhood because it definitely conjures up happy memories for me as WELL as being simply delicious. I also love Rum & Raisin chocolate in case anyone was wondering. :)

8. What makes you happy?
Seeing my family happy. Sitting in front of the fire on a winter's night. Reading (duh). Horse riding. Swimming (in warmish water!!!) with my little one. So many things... Work isn't on this list... Oh well, we can't have everything.

9. If you had to describe yourself in one word, what word would you choose?
Awesome ;)

10. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
I’m a dog person essentially although I have both a dog and a cat. I have a lot more horses but horse-person wasn’t one of the options!

I think there’s something about dogs though that just makes them so outgoing and enthusiastic about life and at the same time protective and loyal. Plus there’s the upside of having an exercise buddy and a playmate with boundless energy and all the time in the world for my little one.

11. What is your all-time favorite book?
Ahhh! Suzanne you cruel, cruel thing! Must I have just one?

I CAN'T DO IT! I just can't... I'm sorry, I tried!

You could see my favourite SERIES that I've read this year over here... If you're interested. :)

MY NOMINEES:

Sorry, I'm going to flunk this one! I'm not sure who or who hasn't done this AWARD/TAG and I'm not sure who even DOES awards/tags.

If you're reading this - YOU ARE NOMINATED - if you so choose to be. Please ping me a Twitter (@bookreviewsbydi) or leave me a comment if you're going to do this. If you've already done it please leave me a link so I can go and read your answers and if you don't feel like doing it but want to answer a few of my questions you can do that in the comments too!

Anything goes. :)

Again, thanks so much Suzanne for nominating me and for your questions. You are only slightly evil. ;)
